We are currently in my least favourite part of the football season. Silly season as most call it, refers to the part of the process where many football clubs are suddenly interested in certain players. If you support a small club then your star players will most probably be on the shopping list for some of the bigger European clubs.
The advent of professional sport has meant the loss of loyalty towards a club or an area where the club is situated. The players will cite short careers, agency fees and all other excuses for their exorbitant fees.
The soccer world has been stung by the purchases of Kaka from AC Milan in Italy and Chistiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in England. Both are now the property of Spanish giants Real Madrid. Ronaldo cost 90 million Euros and 65 million Euros for Kaka. Economically this makes little or no sense as Real Madrid are deep in debt and have struggled previously with an all star team,
I think the time has come that FIFA and UEFA put a transfer cap or a team cap as seen in American sport as the big finance teams (Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid) will be buying the talent at any costs.
In a global sense with the economy at a cross roads and job loses making the news daily this has put sport in a bad light . It plays a social role and this is irresponsible.

Now that 59% of the supporters are saying that they are likely not to get a new season ticket. I can’t imagine what will become of the club, it’s all about profit for the Glazer family, they keep forgetting that the fans are not happy and that is the most important thing imo.

Hi
The pressure is definitely building on the Glazers but they own the club and do not need to sell it to anyone. The Red Knights have definitely made their intentions known and it will be interesting how this story develops over time.
